This is less a critique of the Houston design lab than it is reaffirming what an articulate system for recognition this is. Weaving through the news and social channels for the better part of a decade, HINergy has put out some of the most compelling and entertaining print work we’ve seen in a while. From the cheesy pandamas of Deng Xiaoping in the mid 1990s to more recent work for the FIFA World Cup and, of course, the inclusion of the Naked Cowboy in the 2008 Campaign for the President, HINergy has maintained an engaging message for the past 18 months. And yet, here we are. With a revised web site and aesthetic that are infinitely better than the last, the studio’s time may be up.
